How can we help you?
About Hazel Health
Do I need a referral to book?
No referral needed. You can book any appointment directly through Hazel, online, whenever it suits you.
Is Hazel virtual only?
Hazel is virtual first, not virtual only. Most of your care happens online, so you can see your clinician from wherever you are. When something needs to happen in person, like a physical exam, scan, blood test or procedure, your Hazel doctor will refer you into our trusted network of in-person services nationwide.
Can I access Hazel if I live in a regional or remote area?
Yes. Hazel works Australia-wide. Whether you're in a capital city, a regional town or somewhere genuinely remote, you can see a women's health doctor without the waitlist or the four-hour drive.
What if I don't have a diagnosis yet?
Honestly, that's why Hazel exists. So many women arrive here without a diagnosis, or after years of being dismissed, misdiagnosed, or told their symptoms are "just part of being a woman." Some are looking for a second opinion. Some are starting from scratch. Wherever you are, your Hazel doctor will take your symptoms seriously and help you work out what's actually going on.
Will I keep seeing the same clinician?
Where possible, yes. Continuity matters, and follow-ups are designed so you can keep seeing the same doctor over time. All of our doctors are trained in the same evidence-based approach to women's health, and your notes follow you across the team, so any of our doctors can pick up your care where it left off.
When isn't Hazel the right place for care?
Hazel is a specialist women's health clinic, so we're not built for everything. We're not the right place for emergencies, urgent in-person care, acute illnesses outside women's health like colds or flu, or script-only requests without a consultation. If you're not sure whether Hazel fits, our care team can help.
Will Hazel replace my GP?
No. Hazel is a specialist women's health service that works in conjunction with your GP, not in place of them. Your GP looks after the full picture of your health; Hazel focuses specifically on the women's health concerns that benefit from dedicated time and expertise.
Are appointments private and confidential?
Always. Your symptoms, your history, the questions you've never asked anyone: all of it stays between you and your Hazel doctor. Consultations are held on a secure platform, and protected by Australian privacy and clinical confidentiality laws.See how we handle privacy and security →
Can Hazel support complex or overlapping symptoms?
Yes, and we'd argue it's where we do our best work. Hormones, pelvic health, mood, energy, sleep, gut: it's all connected, and your Hazel doctor will treat it that way. You won't have to repeat your story across appointments or convince anyone the symptoms are related.
What kind of treatment does Hazel offer?
Hazel offers the full range of evidence-based women's health treatment, which may include prescription medication, supplements, lifestyle changes, holistic approaches, referrals or further investigation. What matters as much as the clinical picture is what you want. Some women want to try lifestyle changes first. Some want to avoid pharmacological treatment altogether. Some want medication on the table from day one. Your care plan reflects what's clinically right and what feels right to you.
What conditions and symptoms does Hazel treat and support?
Hazel provides comprehensive care for women’s health, offering a holistic approach that addresses both physical and emotional wellbeing. Our Hazel medical services offer personalised support for gynaecological, sexual, and menstrual health, chronic pelvic pain, and offer conventional and natural treatment options, including endocannabinoid medicine.
Our psychology services provide therapy for trauma, mood disorders, and anxiety in a safe, stigma-free environment. For intimacy, pleasure, and sexual anxiety concerns, our sexologists specialise in treating conditions like painful sex and vaginismus.
Our naturopaths offer guidance on nutrition, herbal remedies, and lifestyle changes, supporting overall health. Additionally, we provide convenient pharmacy delivery, ensuring prescriptions and supplements are delivered directly to your door.
What if I need in-person care?
While Hazel excels in virtual care, we understand that some health concerns require face-to-face visits, like when you need tests or physical examinations. When necessary, our team will refer you to trusted local providers for any tests, procedures, or specialist appointments you need. We work with these providers to ensure your care remains connected and seamless.
Does Hazel provide care for the LGBTQIA+ community?
Yes. Your pronouns and gender identity will always be respected, recognised, and celebrated at Hazel. Our services are available to those assigned female at birth – including women, transgender, and non-binary folk.

How do I book?
GP appointments can be booked online, anytime. For gynaecology and allied health, contact our care team and they'll help you find the right clinician and time.
Can I claim through Medicare or private health insurance?
Medicare rebates apply to Hazel GP consultations, and may apply to some allied health services with the right referral and care plan. Many private health insurers also offer rebates for telehealth, so it's worth checking with yours.
How do I update my personal details?
You can easily update your personal details in your Hazel account. Simply click the Settings button in the top-right corner of the homepage, then select My Profile. This will take you to a page displaying your current personal information. To make changes, click the Edit button at the bottom of the page, and you'll be able to update your details.
Is there a cancellation fee if I miss my appointment?
We understand that life can get busy, but if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. If we don’t receive notice within that time frame, a cancellation fee equivalent to the cost of your consultation will apply. Please note, Hazel charges a consultation fee on behalf of our practitioners, which is non-refundable and taken at the time of booking.
Can I share lab results or test results from another practitioner with Hazel?
Yes, we encourage sharing results. If you're able to provide any relevant documents or health history, this helps your Hazel clinical team better understand your health and ultimately help you find the right treatments. You can upload any relevant documents directly within your Hazel account. Don't worry if you do not have access to previous health-related documents or information. Our practitioners will ensure they take the time to get a clear understanding of your health history during your appointment so they are able to apply the best care plan possible for your circumstances.
During My Appointment
What is the best web browser for Hazel’s online appointments?
For the best experience, we suggest patients use Google Chrome on their laptop or desktop. In saying that, any browser or device with internet access as well as a microphone and camera will work for your appointment.
Do I need a webcam and microphone for my Hazel appointment?
Ideally, yes. To get the most out of your Hazel appointment we recommend you have access to a webcam and microphone so you are able to consult face-to-face with your practitioner, just as you would at an in-person appointment.
If you do not have access to a computer with these functions, our practitioners will be able to conduct the appointment over the phone. Simply write a note in the enquiry section saying that you do not have access to a webcam or microphone when booking your appointment.
This will let the doctor know to call you to conduct your appointment via phone at the time of your booking, rather than wait in the virtual appointment rooms. You will still need to log onto your dashboard and click ‘attend appointment’ to let the doctor know you are ready.
